We hope that you will attend to learn more about what Winlink can do. Our focus will be on packet, VARA FM, and how to use scripts for certain types of connections.

GATEWAYS

The KF4JVI two Winlink gateways are going strong and working well. To further support our connection and partnership with WX4PG we have separated the operating frequencies of the two primary modes we use, packet and VARA FM. You will find packet for KF4JVI-10 now at 145.050. VARA FM narrow and wide remain on 145.530, also KF4JVI-10.

DIGIPEATING

We also offer digipeating capabilities to other gateways like WX4PG-10. The easiest way to test this is to address your session, packet or VARA FM, as follows;

This will route your message through the KF4JVI gateway and be forwarded to WX4PG’s gateway. This is handy should we ever lose our internet at the repeater site. Give it a try.

We plan to run another Winlink exercise. There will be a Winlink class offered for those that would like to learn more about what Winlink can do with forms. More on that later.

If you have any questions regarding your setup please feel free to let me know.

Contributions to the TBARC Repeater Maintenance Fund may be made by mailing a check for any amount you wish to the TBARC address and note on the check that it is for the repeater fund. Any financial help would be most appreciated. Remember that this repeater becomes an emergency communication repeater for all of Polk & Rutherford Counties, Upper Spartanburg and NW Greenville SC Counties during really bad weather. Also, if you monitor the repeater we simulcast over our repeater any Weather Warnings that the Greenville Weather Service at the GSP Airport issues for this area.
